How to use the 3Dfx Patch

Please note that this is a Beta release of the 3Dfx patch.
There may be a couple of little glitches and the Mip Mapping
is still to be optimized (see below). The final patch
should be up in a few days. We kindly ask any third party FTP
and Web sites not to copy this Beta patch to your sites
until we release the final version, we want to make sure that
when it is finalized only that copy is out there. Thank
you for your cooperation.

The zip file contains a file "tomb.exe". This needs to be
placed on your hard drive in the directory where you
installed the game. By default, this would be c:\tombraid.
Don't worry about overwriting the original tomb.exe, you have a
copy on your CD.

Mip Mapping has been implemented, its purpose is to make
distant objects more clear. It can be turned on/off in the
game by hitting F4 (in-game) or clicking on the sunglasses icon
in the menu rings; by default Mip Mapping is set to ON. We
are still optimizing this routine and as a result when you
start the game you will see a black screen for up 2
minutes after the opening FMV. Your system has not
crashed. In addition, if you play w/ Mip Mapping on about 2
megs or so of info will be saved in your TOMBRAID
directory after each level. If you wish to turn mip Mapping of,
use the sunglasses icon. Your selection will be saved as
well as applied, ie when you play another game, Mip Mapping
will remain OFF.
